Police looking for suspect in Colorado Springs shooting

Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspect after an early-morning shooting at a house party.

It happened around midnight Sunday in the 3600 block of San Pedro Court.

Police said several people were inside the home when the shooting happened. Most of the witnesses left before police arrived.

An 18-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Neighbors told KRDO NewsChannel 13 they watched it all happen from their homes.

“I heard a lot of shots. Five, six, seven maybe,” Natalie Rush said. “I looked out my window and that’s when I saw people running to their cars screaming.”

The gunshots took some neighbors by surprise.

“I thought maybe it was just fireworks,” Tina Savage said.

Neighbors described the area as very quiet and peaceful.

“I’ve lived here going on 12 or 13 years,” Rush said. “This is very unusual.”

If you have any information about the shooting, contact Colorado Springs police at 444-7000.
