Transgender inmate placed in solitary confinement following complaint

A transgender inmate at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center was placed in solitary confinement after another inmate complained.

The complaint said that the woman was causing disruption by openly talking about her transgender status, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said that the woman was moved for her own safety. It says that she is wanted in Georgia, and is expected to be extradited there soon.
