Former teacher who admitted to sexting will do work for Pueblo County

A former high school teacher who admitted to sexting with and kissing a student will be doing work for Pueblo County.

Pueblo County commissioners signed a resolution Monday, upon the request of the sheriff’s office, permitting Larisa Oringdulph to work as a grant coordinator with the regional Homeland Security Agency. She’ll be working for five counties in southern Colorado, helping to distribute grant funds.

Oringdulph will work with the South All-Hazards Region for Custer, Fremont, Huerfano, Las Animas and Pueblo County.

Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor said Oringdulph was one of 17 applicants for the job and was the most qualified due to previous grant writing experience. She’ll earn $48,000.

Oringdulph’s teachers license was revoked last month after she engaged in “inappropriate conduct toward male high school students,” according to the state board of education, while working at South High School.

Oringdulph was never charged with a crime.
