Basement fire displaces Colorado Springs family

A Colorado Springs family was displaced after an overnight fire.

The fire was reported on Monday, around 1:30 a.m., in the 2000 block of N Circle Dr. Firefighters say it started in the basement of a home. They got the fire under control within an hour.

One adult, six children and family pets were not able to return to the home. A disaster team with the Pikes Peak Red Cross helped the family find temporary lodging.
