CSPD investigating armed home invasion near downtown

The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating an apparent home invasion that happened shortly before noon Sunday (12/28/14).

It happened on the 700 block of North Nevada Avenue, near downtown.

Investigators say two black men, between 20 to 30 years old, allegedly entered a home and brandished guns to the homeowners. Both men were wearing black. One man is described as thin, about 5’9”. Witnesses say the other man has a heavier build and is about 5’7”.

Both men fled the scene. No one inside the home was hurt.

Police believe the men got away in a newer model Chrysler 4-Door vehicle, that is gray/blue in color.
