Texas man wanted on felony theft arrested in Springs
Colorado Springs Police help crack a case Wednesday night that started in Texas on Monday.
Police say Trent Michael Cook, the driver of an armored truck abandoned in Amarillo, TX stole what was inside, then took off.
Cook was armed when arrested Wednesday at a Colorado Springs hotel. His accomplice was also arrested.
One Springs police officer was very surprised to get a call Tuesday night from his colleagues in Amarillo.
“It was about 8 p.m. last night when we got the call,” Sgt. Dale Fox told KRDO NewsChannel 13. “None of us knew about the original case. None of us knew this had happened in Amarillo so when people were bringing it up to us we were surprised to learn that it was such a high profile deal.”
Cook faces felony theft charges. He and his unnamed accomplice will likely be extradited to Texas next week.
