Alcohol suspected in 2 overnight crashes
Colorado Springs police are investigating alcohol as possible factors in two separate overnight crashes Thursday morning.
The first accident happened just before midnight on the MLK Bypass at S Union Blvd. The roads were beginning to ice over when it happened, which may have been a factor in the crash, but police are also investigating whether alcohol was involved.
A second crash involved three vehicles. It happened just after 1 a.m. at the intersection of Austin Bluffs Pkwy and N Nevada Ave.
Police say a snow plow truck crashed into a Jeep when the Jeep ran a red light. The Jeep then crossed into the opposite lanes, and crashed into another car.
No serious injuries were reported.
Police say the driver of the Jeep, Anthony Arsenaul, was served and released for suspicion of DUI.
