Small Grass Fire Contained in Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs Fire Department quickly put out a small grass fire on the east side. It happened near Pikes Peak Ave. and S. Academy.

The winds kicked up the fire for a very brief time, but crews were able to get it out in less than 15 minutes.

CSFD reports the fire happened at a homeless camp. One person had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Crews remained on scene to mop up and watch for any hot spots.
