Families are helping families in need

A group is helping families have a happy holiday season in Pueblo.

The 10th annual Families Helping Families event was today.

More than 50 families received food baskets, toys and other gifts from volunteers and even Santa Claus.

The organization found out who needed help for the holidays from nonprofit organizations around Pueblo.

Vanessa Cargill is a mother. She said she is grateful for any help during the holidays.

“It’s nice to know that someone would give to others and definitely knowing that we struggle every day to provide food and to even provide a hat to go over our kids heads,” she said.

The tradition was started when the Baros family found another family in need during the holidays and they decided to help that family out.
