UPS boy’s story featured on World News Tonight

A little boy’s love for UPS has taken the world by storm.

On Wednesday evening, ABC News World News Tonight with David Muir featured KRDO NewsChannel 13’s stories with 4-year-old Carson Kight and his bond with his UPS deliveryman.

“It went from this little story we shared, to a little story UPS shared on Facebook, to a Wishes Delivered, to national exposure,” said Karen Kight, Carson’s mom. “It touches everybody’s heartstrings.”

KRDO NewsChannel 13 first introduced 4-year-old Carson Kight in a story last week. Carson’s love for UPS started with the UPS driver he calls Mr. Ernie. Ernest Lagasca delivered special formula to Carson every week and the two formed a friendship, spending time together with every delivery. But since Lagasca’s route was moved from Carson’s neighborhood over the summer, the two rarely see each other.

Only KRDO was there as Carson and Lagasca reunited at the UPS Customer Center on Tuesday.

“Everyone sees the video and they see a child getting a toy and they see their children in what Carson did and that spirit comes back,” said Jim Kight, Carson’s dad. “Everyone sees our family and it’s kind of strange but cool at the same time.”
