CSPD: Stolen car involved in 3 chases in 2 days

A driver was arrested after a police chase in Colorado Springs early Thursday morning. It was the third time the same car has been involved in a chase in two days.

Thursday’s chase began at around 3 a.m. near Platte Avenue and Arawanna Street, when police say 27-year-old Raymond Norlin was spotted driving on the opposite side of the road. The chase ended on Powers Boulevard north of Galley Road. Three police cruisers purposely rammed into the car Norlin drove in and pinned it to stop him. Police said he refused to get out of the car, and they used a Taser to control him. Norlin was taken to the hospital as a precaution and then taken to the Criminal Justice Center.

Police said Norlin had fled from police and later from a sheriff’s deputy Wednesday. They had attempted to stop him for driving a car without license plates, but they stopped the pursuit for the public’s safety.

Police said the car was stolen and Norlin was wanted for Felony Escape. He was charged with Felony Vehicular Eluding and other charges may be filed.
