Pueblo organization gets help on Colorado Gives Day

A nonprofit organization in Pueblo benefited from Colorado Gives Day Tuesday.

The goal of the day is to make $20 million for nonprofit groups by midnight.

POSADA, a group that helps needy families, said during the holiday season every dollar counts, since the need is high for families down on their luck.

“We’re seeing more families in need of emergency shelter and so it cost a little over $200 to provide emergency shelter for families at a local motel for a week,” Christina Trujillo said. She is a coordinator for the group.

POSADA made more than a $1,000 Tuesday.

As for Colorado Gives Day, its website said it surpassed its $20 million goal.
