Scuffle Leads to Car Crashing into a Mobile Home

Colorado Springs Police say a scuffle caused a crash into a mobile home early Sunday morning (12/07/14).

It happened at the Meadows Mobile Home Park on Astrozon Blvd., around 6:00 am.

Officers say the driver of a silver sedan, Cesar Tapia-Soto had just dropped off a friend, Jorge Aguilar Jr., at the home, when Aguilar opened the driver’s side door and grabbed the steering wheel.

A scuffle ensued, the driver tried to take off, and ended up crashing into the mobile home.

There were people inside the home, but they were not hurt.

While the home was damaged, it was deemed structurally sound.

Aguilar was taken to Memorial hospital to be treated for injuries.

The driver, Tapia-Soto was cited for careless driving.

Police do not think alcohol was a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
