Wanted woman arrested after police chase

A woman wanted on an arrest warrant for attempted murder led Colorado Springs police on a car chase before she was arrested Wednesday night.

Police found Yvonne Pena, 34, around 7 p.m. in a parking lot near Circle Dr and Verde Dr. One officer parked in front of her car and another parked behind. When an officer ordered Pena out of the car, they say she rammed into one of the police cruisers and drove off, starting a chase.

Police chased Pena until she lost control and crashed into a parked car near Alvarado Dr and Verde Dr. Police say Pena refused to get out of the car, so they used a K-9 to get her out.

In addition to the original warrant for attempted murder, Pena now faces other felony charges in connection to the Wednesday night incident.
