Authorities find driver who hit, killed pedestrian

Authorities say they have found the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian with her SUV on a highway near Colorado Springs.

The Colorado State Patrol says the 60-year-old woman contacted investigators Sunday, saying she was involved in the crash that killed 39-year-old Kennon Stephens. The Patrol did not say if the woman was charged.

Stephens was walking in the right lane of Colorado Highway 115 near Fort Carson when he was hit at about 4 a.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigators say he might have been drinking before he was hit.

Fort Carson officials say the Colorado Springs man was not affiliated with the military.
