Bank robbery suspect arrested in Springs hotel room

Colorado Springs Police said a bank robbery suspect was arrested at a north side hotel Monday night (12/1/14).

Brandon Williams, 32, was arrested in a room at the Academy Hotel in the 8100 block of N. Academy Blvd. shortly after 7 p.m.

Police said Williams is their suspect in a robbery that happened just before 10 a.m. Monday at the Chase Bank branch in the 3300 block of Centennial Blvd.

Investigators said the robber used a note to demand money from a teller. They said no weapon was seen.

Police said cash from the Chase Bank robbery was found in the hotel room where Williams was arrested, along with other evidence linking him to the crime.

Williams is currently facing a felony robbery charge for the Chase Bank robbery. Police said he may also be charged in a robbery at a Wells Fargo in the 5700 block of Constitution Ave. That robbery happened at 10 a.m. on November 10. Police said that robbery was committed in the same manner as the Chase Bank robbery by a man fitting Williams’ description.
