Hundreds shop on “Green Friday” in Pueblo County

People in Pueblo County decided to shop green on Black Friday.

This is the first time people were able to shop for recreational marijuana legally on America’s biggest shopping day of the year.

The National Retail Federation estimates about 95 million people shop on Black Friday and marijuana shops in Pueblo County saw its share.

Rick Hooper is the general manager of The Spot marijuana shop. He said more than 200 people bought pot on Black Friday. He said that’s the most since April 20.

He also said he started planning for Black Friday since April 20.

As for shoppers, Travis Jones said he wishes every day could be “Green Friday.”

“It’s cheaper, it’s easier on my wallet and I get the marijuana I want,” he said.

Hooper and other marijuana shops in Pueblo County said now they are getting ready for Small Business Saturday.
