Steamboat, Crested Butte, Beaver Creek open

More Colorado ski areas are opening for Thanksgiving weekend.

Steamboat, Crested Butte and Beaver Creek opened Wednesday with fresh snow. Steamboat says it’s had 21 inches in the last three days while Crested Butte says it’s gotten that much over the last week. Steamboat is starting the season with the most terrain it’s had open in the last five years. Crested Butte offered free lift tickets while Beaver Creek is starting the season with a new express combination lift.

Snowmass and Telluride both plan to open Thursday.
