Shipping a gift this holiday season? Here are some tips to avoid theft
As many begin to mail gifts for the upcoming holidays, the US Postal Service has tips for how to avoid mail theft, once it’s been delivered at your doorstep.
Every year, there are cases of thieves taking packages delivered to people’s doorsteps. A USPS spokesperson said they offer multiple services to help avoid that.
“Add insurance or request a signature through our signature confirmation service, or you could ship priority mail express, also requesting a signature,” Linda Neill said.
She also recommends that recipients pick up their packages as soon as they find out they have been delivered and that neighbors be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.
