List of candidates in Black Forest Fire chief search narrowed to three

Three finalists are competing for the position of chief of the Black Forest Fire/Rescue Protection District.

Black Forest Fire posted the names of the candidates along with biographical information on its website on November 22.

BRYAN J. JACK
Mr. Jack is currently the Town Administrator with the Town of Simla, with over nineteen years of experience in the fire service to include the USDA Forest Service and the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District.

JAMES R. REBITSKI
Mr. Rebitski is currently the acting Fire Chief for Black Forest Fire/Rescue with over sixteen years in the fire/medical service to include the Fountain Fire Department, AMR and BFFR.

SCOTT M. VAN BOERUM
Mr. Van Boerum is currently the Fire Chief of the Arivaca Fire District in Arizona, with over twenty-seven years in the fire/medical service to include South Tucson Fire, Green Valley (AZ) Fire District, Wackenhut Fire (Iraq), White Settlement VFD, Packanack Lake Fire Company #5, Prospect Park Fire and others.

The Board has scheduled a public meet and greet at fire station one, 11445 Teachout Road, at 6 p.m. on December 9, 2014. It will select a new fire chief at its regular meeting on December 10 at 6:30 p.m.
