One killed in Black Forest crash

One person was killed, another hurt in a crash in Black Forest late Thursday night.

It happened just north of Highway 83 and Hodgen Road around 9 p.m., State Patrol said.

The vehicle headed south on Highway 83 when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree, State Patrol said. The 48-year-old driver died. Kenneth Skidmore,43, was a passenger in the car and was taken to Penrose Main in Colorado Springs.

Speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash, State Patrol said. The crash remains under investigation.
