Remains identified as those of missing Woodland Park woman
The Douglas County Coroner’s Office confirms that a body found near Rainbow Falls Monday is that of a missing woman from Woodland Park.
It’s not known yet how Kathleen Leber, 57, died.
Leber’s car was found off the road near highway 67 at around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Troopers found the car about five miles from her home. They say it had crashed through a wire fence and had minor damage. But Leber was nowhere to be found
Search and rescue crews spent hours looking for her. Then around 3 p.m. they made a sad discovery; a woman’s body was found less than half-a-mile away from Leber’s abandoned car.
We spoke with Leber’s husband Tuesday morning. He says she went for a drive Sunday night and never came back.
