Boy, 15, dead after shooting in Clifton

Authorities say a 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting at a home in Clifton.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that authorities say there was no malicious intent behind the shooting of Brandon Crawford, who was found dead inside the home on Sunday afternoon.

The Mesa County Coroner’s office says Crawford died from a gunshot to the chest, and the manner of his death is homicide. Investigators say the person responsible is cooperating. No arrests have been made.

Sheriff’s Deputy Ben Carnes says other people were inside the home at the home. No other details have been released.

Clifton is about five miles east of Grand Junction.
