Ballistic vests donated to two CSPD K-9’s

Two K-9 officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department have been awarded ballistic vests that will keep them safe on the job.

The vests awarded to Officers Dax and Blitz are coming from a nonprofit organization called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. An anonymous local donor provided funds to the nonprofit for Blitz. Dax’s vest is being donated by the Hi Country Newcomers Club in memory of K9 Officer Petra, who died in a training accident in September.

Each $950.00 vest provides protection to the K9s should someone try to shoot or stab them.
