Remington Elementary closes for the day after roof work fills school with smoke smell
Parents of students who attend Remington Elementary School in Falcon D-49 were asked to pick up their kids Friday.
The district decided to close the school for the day after the building filled with stinky smoke.
A roofing operation at the school was responsible for the offensive stench, according to firefighters.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department aired out the building and everyone was allowed back inside before the decision was made to shut down for the day.
