Senate candidates rally bases before Election Day

In the final full day of the heated Colorado Senate campaign, both sides are trying to rev up their base.

Democratic Sen. Mark Udall joined Hispanic leaders for a rally at Metro State in Denver aimed to try to get Hispanic and young voters to the polls. Democrats are behind in early voting and need many supporters to cast their ballots in the final 48 hours for Udall to survive.

Challenger Cory Gardner, a Republican congressman, rallied campaign workers in Greenwood Village and told them they could be the ones to swing the Senate back to Republican control.

Republicans need to net six seats to take over the Senate. Colorado’s race is one of the costliest and closest in the country.
