Springs apartment fire under control

A fire at the Cedar Creek Club Apartments in southeast Colorado Springs is now under control. Thirty firefighters battled the flames.

The complex is located at the intersection of Chelton Rd. and Mallard Rd.

The fire started in a third floor unit. No one was home at the time and no one was hurt. Some pets that were in the apartment had to be rescued.

Families living in the apartment where the fire started and some surrounding units have been temporarily displaced. The Red Cross will assist them.
