Power back on in Pueblo after squirrel causes outage

Black Hills energy says the power is back on in Pueblo, after a squirrel got into a central substation.

This happened at the service center in the downtown area.

Black Hills Energy says four circuits were affected, and the power went out for about 4,000 customers around 9:00 am Sunday (10-26-14).

The power has been restored, according to Black Hills Energy.

Wildlife guards are installed at power stations to prevent animals from getting in, however Black Hills Energy says these are mainly to keep birds out, and sometimes other small animals can get into the station.
