Crash closes southbound I-25 in south Colorado Springs

Southbound I-25 was closed just south of the Circle Drive exit late Friday night because of a crash.

Colorado State Patrol asked drivers to detour off of I-25 at the Circle/Lake exit and get back onto I-25 at S. Academy Blvd.

Scanner traffic indicates that as many six vehicles were involved. State troopers report that there were no serious injuries, but several people were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

I-25 was reopened around 11:20 p.m., after the vehicles involved in the crash were moved to the side of the road.
