Prescribed burns planned in Douglas, Teller & Park Counties

You may see a lot of smoke today in the Southern Colorado mountains, but don’t panic; the U.S. Forest Service is planning two prescribed burns today.

One is in the Trout Creek area, on Highway 67, near the Douglas/Teller County lines.

The other is along the east side of County Road 61, about three miles south of Lake George.

For more information regarding these projects, please contact the U.S. Forest Service – Pikes Peak Ranger District Office, at 719-636-1602.

You can also follow them on Twitter @PSICC_NF. Use #TroutCreekRX and #LkGeoRX for information during burning operations.
