Gardner outraises Udall as voting begins
Rep. Cory Gardner is winning the money battle as voters begin to cast their ballots in Colorado’s Senate race.
Gardner outraised Democratic Sen. Mark Udall in the first two weeks of October. The Republican’s campaign said he raised $1.28 million and has $1.87 million in cash available to him in the final three weeks of the campaign.
Udall reported raising $735,000 and has $536,000 cash on hand. His campaign has argued that it has an advantage in the race’s final days because Democrats are scheduled to air more ads on Udall’s behalf than Republicans have booked to help Gardner.
Gardner and Udall are locked in a tight battle that could determine which party controls the U.S. Senate. Republicans need to net six seats to take over the chamber.
