Voting centers open across Colorado

Voting centers are now open across Colorado, allowing voters to cast ballots in person or drop off their mail-in ballots for this fall’s election.

The centers opened Monday and will remain open through Nov. 4, Election Day.

John Shue dropped off his ballot in Pueblo Monday. He said his family looks forward to voting early every election cycle.

“We want to get it done and we think it’s important,” he said. “It’s been part of our tradition ever since they allowed us to do this early voting.”

Registered voters began receiving ballots in the mail last week. Some voters say getting a ballot early means having more time to fill it out and turn it in.

“People are busy and its kind of difficult for people to get out because we’re getting busier and busier,” said Colorado Springs voter Kent Clawley.

Mail ballots were sent to registered voters last week and should have been received by now. To be counted, mail-in ballots must reach your county clerk’s office by 7 p.m. on Nov. 4. A postmark for that date doesn’t count.
