People are out of their gourds for pumpkin flavors

It’s a flavor that people are really out of their gourds for this time of year…pumpkin.

“My favorite time of year,” Courtney Crabtree said.

Since 2003 when Starbucks first introduced their Pumpkin Spice Lattes, America’s taste for pumpkin has grown exponentially.

According to Nielsen, American’s spent over $15 million dollars on pumpkin flavored beer last year alone. Hundreds of people lined up out of the door at Bristol Brewery earlier this week for a chance to buy a bottle of the Venetucci Pumpkin Ale.

“It’s kind of humbling to realize… Hey we created this thing that’s just gone past what we could ever really imagine really and that’s great,” the owner, Mike Bristol said.

Joining the beer on store shelves include pumpkin flavored Oreos, pretzels, Pop Tarts, Ice Cream, cup cakes, ect…

And even that isn’t enough for consumers.

“I don’t think it can go too far,” Crabtree said.
