Pueblo City Council supports half-cent sales tax
Pueblo City Council voted 4-2 Tuesday to support a half-cent sales tax on the November ballot.
Question 200 would dedicate $7 million to help police and fire departments buy new equipment and fill empty job positions.
One Pueblo firefighter was at Tuesday night’s meeting to show his support.
“Do you want to live in a Pueblo that has better police cars, better fire trucks,” firefighter Damian Britts said, “Or do you want to continue on the road we’re on for the next five years?”
If voters pass Question 200, the half-cent sales tax would be in effect for five years.
