Abortion-rights advocates rally against personhood

Colorado voters have voted three times against ballot measures to ban all abortions.

Abortion-rights advocates in Denver are stepping up a campaign to seek a fourth defeat for a so-called personhood measure.

Doctors and activists are gathering at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains Friday afternoon the decry Amendment 67.

That’s the ballot measure to include unborn human beings under the definition of “person” and “child” in the Colorado criminal code. Supporters say the amendment is needed to enhance criminal penalties for crimes against pregnant women.

Opponents say the measure would make any abortion a crime. That includes cases of rape, incest and when a mother’s health is at risk.
