Owner of malnourished Black Forest horses will not get them back

A judge ruled Thursday that Sherri Brunzell will not get her horses back right now, and she’ll have to pay for their vet care.

The Facebook page Justice for Dual Peppy reports that the judge ruled the seizure of the animals will stand. Brunzell was ordered to pay over $5,000 in vet care.

The horses, along with some llamas that were removed from the property, are in the care of animal rescue experts.

The animals were removed from a Black Forest barn last month. Over a dozen horses were found dead. Many of the surviving animals were malnourished and living in deplorable conditions.

The Justice for Dual Peppy Facebook page is named after one of the surviving horses.
