Boulder weighs settlement of cyclist’s lawsuit

The Boulder City Council is considering a $30,000 settlement of a lawsuit filed by a bicyclist injured in a collision with a police motorcycle.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports the council will consider the possible deal Tuesday. The city manager, city attorney and police chief have all recommended the settlement be approved.

Bicyclist Dustin Kellogg of Allenspark suffered a knee injury in the August 2012 incident.

A police report says officer Bradley Frederking was driving the motorcycle and turned right, colliding with Kellogg. Frederking said his turn signal was on. Kellogg said he didn’t see a signal.
