Man accused in rush-hour chase faces trial

A judge says there is enough evidence to try a 28-year-old carjacking suspect accused of stealing a vehicle with a child inside and leading Colorado authorities on a 75-mile rush-hour chase.

The Denver Post reports Friday that a judge found enough evidence to hold Ryan Cole Stone for trial on multiple charges in the March 12 case. Prosecutors have charged him with numerous counts, including attempted murder and kidnapping.

Stone is accused of stealing a vehicle with a 4-year-old boy in the backseat and then carjacking two other vehicles while a news helicopter tracked him in Denver. The boy was not hurt, but authorities say Stone hit and seriously injured a state trooper deploying stop sticks.

Stone was arrested when he tried to run and slipped on ice.
