Two $2 million winning Powerball tickets sold in the Colorado Springs area

The Colorado Lottery says two southern Colorado Powerball players are now millionaires.

The lottery says that on Wednesday night, two players nabbed a $2 million piece of the Powerball pie by matching five numbers and choosing the Powerplay option.

One winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Fountain, and the other at a Safeway store in Colorado Springs.

Last night’s winning Powerball numbers were 1, 4, 18, 20, 45, and the Powerball number was 7. The Powerplay option, which costs an additional dollar to play, was x2. Players who paid extra for the Powerplay had their usual winnings doubled.

Just two months ago, a man from Rifle in western Colorado won a $90 million Powerball prize, setting a new jackpot record for Colorado.

Powerball is multi-state game with twice-weekly drawings and a starting jackpot of $40 million. Powerball’s current $60 million jackpot was not hit last night, and continues to grow.
