Two accused of breaking into vacuums at Springs car wash

A man and a woman are accused of breaking into several coin-operated vacuum machines at a Colorado Springs self-serve car wash.

Police said officers were investigated a pattern of burglaries at a car wash in the 4800 block of Barnes Road. While on routine patrol early Saturday morning, an officer saw two people trying to break open coin-operated vacuum machines at the car wash.

Sarah Kendall, 43 and Jeremy Lingle, 35, were arrested, police said. Officers found a small amount of meth on one of them.

They said they also found several tools including a hacksaw, a crowbar and a drill. Drills were used in at least two prior incidents at the same location, police said.

The suspects were taken to jail on associated drug and burglary charges.
