State Patrol recruiting women troopers
The Colorado State Patrol is stepping up efforts to recruit female officers with a new campaign showing they can have a family and still fight crime.
A video shows female troops pointing guns, helping motorists and investigating crimes – and also fishing, snowboarding and spending time with their families.
The Daily Sentinel reports the recruitment video was shown Friday to a few dozen employees. Patrol Lt. Col. Brenda Leffler says the video seeks to recruit women to the agency by showing they can serve and “still have a life.”
The “I Am a Trooper” video was the product of more than a year’s work by the State Patrol’s media center.
