Police Investigating Shooting in Pueblo

Pueblo police are investigating a shooting near Thatcher Avenue.

The shooting happened around 10:30 this morning (9/27/14) on the 600 block of Jackson Street.

Police said a 37-year-old man was shot. Witnesses told police that they heard an argument before hearing the gunshot.

The victim is currently in the hospital being treated for his injuries, police said.

Francis Reynolds lives near the crime scene. He said he took care of the victim before he was taken to the hospital.

“I went around, and saw the blood and realized he had been shot. I reached in for a pulse and he spoke a little gurgly and that’s when I knew he was still alive,” he said.

Officers searched the area and found a 17-year-old boy who is a person of interest hiding nearby.

Police said the juvenile was questioned by officers. He was then taken to a hospital and treated for his injuries. He is still in police custody.

This is the second shooting to happen in Pueblo this month.
