Man guilty in attempted abduction of Colorado girl

A man has pleaded guilty to trying to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom in suburban Denver last year.

As part of the plea agreement announced Friday, 27-year-old John Stanley Snorsky will be sentenced to 30 years in prison for first-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping.

The abduction attempt happened Oct. 28.

Police say he got into the girl’s bedroom through an unlocked window and grabbed her. She screamed for help and was able to get away from him just as her father ran outside. Investigators say Snorsky’s DNA was found on the girl’s clothing

Snorsky, a stranger to the girl’s family, had been on parole for a burglary conviction. He was arrested the day after the attempted abduction on an unrelated charge and later linked to the kidnapping case.
