Hunters, hikers asked to watch out for Craig man

Authorities in northwestern Colorado are asking hunters, hikers and campers to keep an eye out for any sign of a missing man from Craig.

The truck belonging to 61-year-old John Michael Simons’ truck was recently found near Black Mountain in northern Routt County, close to a campsite for hunters. Steamboat Today reports that investigators didn’t find any signs of foul play.

The Craig man left his home July 25 and wrote a note detailing his plans to go to Trapper’s Lake for a few days.

Simons is white, 6 feet tall, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, a mustache and a goatee.
