Man facing charges after illegal marijuana grow found in Fremont County

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office says a tip led them to an illegal marijuana grow near Cotopaxi.

The sheriff’s office and the Bureau of Land Management launched an investigation and obtained a search warrant, which was executed on September 24, 2014. The Fremont County Combined Investigative Response Team and the DEA were also involved in the warrant service.

The investigation led to the arrest of Michael Brenden Diaz, 31. Diaz is facing charges of marijuana possession with intent to manufacture or distribute and cultivating more than thirty marijuana plants.

Diaz is being held at the Fremont County Detention Center on $10,000 bond.
