Pueblo City Council selects five candidates for vacant position

Pueblo City Council will be interviewing five candidates to fill the vacant seat on council.

The five candidates are: Dennis Flores, a former board president of Pueblo City Schools; Steven Floute, a contractor with Public Technology Institute; Luann Martinez, assistant scout executive with Rocky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America; Ginger Maggrett, former dean of students at IntelliTec Colleges; and Wayne Martinez, former owner of Padgett Business Services.

The finalists are vying for the seat vacated by Chris Kaufman, who resigned Aug. 12. Council will interview the candidates during its work session on Sept. 22 at 5:30. Council will select the replacement on Oct. 6.

The replacement candidate will hold that position until Nov. 2015.
