CSPD arrests man accused of trying to steal dispensary’s surveillance camera

Colorado Springs police arrested a man Saturday morning, accused of trying to steal a surveillance camera from a medical marijuana dispensary.

Police said Jeremie Boling, 41, used gloves to try to remove a surveillance camera from the back of Rocky Road Remedies in the 500 block of South Academy Boulevard at around 4 a.m. Saturday.

After Boling was not able to remove the camera with his hands, police said he tried to knock it down with a board.

When officers arrived, police found a camera with cut wires, a flashlight, a screwdriver, a drill, a wire cutter and other tools.

“People try to defeat store security mechanisms at all different kinds of businesses,” said Sgt. John Koch. “It’s not specific to marijuana dispensaries (and) it’s not something that we see commonly.”

Koch said officers arrived at the scene after responding to a report of a burglary in progress. He said the dispensary owner showed them video from the camera that implicates Boling.
