Worker suffers minor injuries in Western Forge fire

The Colorado Springs Fire Department said a manufacturing machine caught fire at a business along the Garden of the Gods Road corridor Thursday.

The fire at Western Forge, 4607 Forge Road, was reported at 3:15 p.m. The fire department tweeted that a manufacturing machine that is used in the production of screw drivers caught fire.

One worker suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Everyone else evacuated the building safely.

It took 40 firefighters 45 minutes to get the fire under control.

The extent of the damage is unknown, but the fire department has released control of the building back to its owners.
