Second conviction handed down in Colorado Springs murder case

A second person has been convicted by a jury in connection to a 2012 murder at a Colorado Springs motel.

Santos Joseph Torres was found guilty on all counts, including first degree murder, on the morning of September 4, 2014. Sentencing was scheduled for September 10 at 3 p.m.

Michael Ramirez, 59, was found dead at the Chief Motel, 1624 S. Nevada Ave., on August 21, 2012.

A second person, Jeanette Silvia, 49, was convicted of first degree murder in connection to the killing on October 4, 2013.
