Colo. Springs woman sentenced after near drowning

A Colorado Springs woman charged after the near drowning of an unsupervised child at a hot tub in Breckenridge has been sentenced.

The Summit Daily reports (http://bit.ly/1trdDY4 ) Bianca Krakofsky pleaded no contest to a felony child abuse charge and, on Thursday, was given a two-year deferred judgment with supervised probation. She also was ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.

Prosecutors say a 5-year-old was in Krakofsky’s foster care in October when the child was found unconscious in a hot tub at the Grand Lodge. Rick Levinson, a Colorado Springs attorney who represents the interests of the victim, says the child has been “incapacitated” and confined to a bed since the near drowning.
